Viva Las Vegas!

Brownill Vickers are delighted to be the main sponser of the St Luke's 40th Anniversary charity ball.

All the glitz and glamour of the world's gambling capital comes to Sheffield as we celebrate the 40th Anniversary of St Luke's with a casino themed ball. The Las Vegas Ball sponsored by Brownill Vickers will feature showgirls, casino tables, live entertainment and a special auction. Brownill Vickers are proud to be the headline sponsor of the event which is sure to be a good night but above all demostrates our support for such a fantastic and worthwhile local charity. Many, many thousands of lives have been touched by St Luke’s. People who are patients themselves, or have a friend or relative who has been cared for at St Luke’s know at first hand the value of the work they do. St Luke's cares for people aged 18 and above throughout Sheffield who have incurable illnesses.
St Luke's provides specialist, dedicated staff who control patients' symptoms and alleviate pain to ensure that they’re physically comfortable, as well as attending to their emotional and spiritual wellbeing, their wishes, anxieties and hopes. Every patient is an individual with unique needs and preferences, so they care for the whole person. Everything is done to support, comfort, and inspire patients, adding quality to life at a time in their lives when every day matters more than ever. St Luke’s doesn’t only look after in-patients. Some people do stay in the in-patient rooms, but others attend the Therapies and Rehabilitation Centre as day patients; and throughout Sheffield the community nurses give patients the benefit of their advice and expertise, helping them to stay at home for longer and remain as active and independent as possible. All of this work is done free of charge and St Luke's relies on fundraising and donations.

F1: All the right moves

Brownill Vickers have followed Marussia Virgin Racing since their inception into Formula 1. It is fair to say that there have been highs and lows but the announcement of a new technical partnership with McLaren and a new technical base represents an exciting new chapter for the team. It also signals the seriousness of its intent to become a real contender in Formula One.

The long term techincal partnership with McLaren will see benefits in accessing McLaren facilities, knowledge and capabilities including use of test rigs, wind tunnel and simulator.

The team has also aquired WRT, its former technical partner, including its leading-edge technical centre in Banbury. The premises will be used over the next two years during which time the team has plans to develop a new tailor-made faciltiy to suit the teams long term plans within Formula One and bring the team under one roof.

Brownill Vickers loyality to the team stems from their involvement in providing valution and development advice regarding the development of the existing Marussia Virgin Racing Headquarters at Dinnington which they have already outgrown. The team is quoted to have said that the new premises could be located anywhere between Dinnington and Banbury. Lets hope that they decide to remain in South Yorkshire!
