Secure Compound, Suitable for External Storage or for Development
Situation and Description
The site extends to 0.7 acres or thereabouts with a frontage to Redbrook Road of 90m or thereabouts. It lies in an extremely prominent location close to the busy junction of Redbrook Road and Wilthorpe Road (A635), both principal arterial routes and heavily trafficked. Barnsley town centre lies approximately 2.5km to the south east.
The site has previously been levelled and laid to limestone although there are concrete pads to the northern section of the site.
It is defined by palisade fencing and accessed via double gates with security posts.
This offers an excellent opportunity to lease a highly secure, prominently positioned site for storage and display of a variety of equipment.
Under Application No. 2015/2033 a temporary planning consent was granted for use of the land including laying of hard standing to allow for storage of vehicles. This temporary consent expired in May 2020 but will be capable of extension subject to further discussion with the Local Planning Authority. The site may not be used for commercial sales of vehicles. The site has an underlying planning permission for a block of 39 apartments with associated car parking. This was granted under Application No. B/05/0565/DT in April 2007 and included planning consent for the adjacent apartment block which was subsequently constructed.
